"Mr. Odie..."
Odie stormed over and kicked the guy right in the chest, growling through gritted teeth, "Who told you to drive that pickup to my place? Are you looking for trouble?"
"Mr. Odie... I didn’t mean to, it was Colby who..."
The man looked genuinely upset.
He’d never driven a pickup before; it was pure bad luck he was nearby when the call came through!
But before long, Odie heard the familiar rumble of his car.
Peering over the guy’s shoulder, Odie spotted Colby pulling up.
Watching Colby grab a hammer from the trunk, Odie’s face darkened further. "Colby! You’ve got some nerve!"
"I'm here to fix your gate, saving you a bundle. Isn’t that a good thing?"
Colby said this while already making a beeline for the gate.
Worried about his gate getting smashed again, Odie pulled out his phone, glowering. "Try it, and I’m calling Sophie."
He might not be able to control Colby, but he knew someone who could.
And sure enough, Colby froze at those words.
Then, slowly, Colby turned back.
Seeing Colby hesitate, Odie smirked. "The mighty Colby, afraid of someone? If you’re fixing it, do it properly, or Sophie’s paying."
Hearing this, Colby tossed the hammer at his sidekick’s feet. "You handle it."
"Me?"
The sidekick pointed at himself, looking baffled.
Once he realized he hadn’t misheard, his face fell.
He was just a lowly bodyguard for the Costello family! He happened to be nearby when they urgently needed someone to drive the pickup.
