Julian stood nearby, chuckling with a hint of resignation. "Ms. Sophie, have you checked how much work is still piled up in your office?"
Sophie just gave a sheepish smile, clearly feeling a bit embarrassed. Elodie and Griffin exchanged knowing glances.
When they opened the office door, both were taken aback by the sight inside.
Sophie, trying to lighten the mood, suggested, "How about we grab some midnight snacks at twelve?"
"Let's make it eight," Elodie said confidently. "When it comes to getting work done, none of you can keep up with me."
With that, Elodie marched into Sophie's office, ready to dive in.
"Great! I'll make a call, and we can all have dinner together at eight," Sophie declared, dialing Colby's number.
Colby picked up right away. Despite his gentle tone, Sophie could hear the tiredness in his voice: "Sophie, do you need me there?"
"I don't necessarily need you, but... you're welcome to join us."
With Sophie inviting Colby over, everyone perked up.
Adler and Jenna, sensing trouble, tried to make a quick escape, but Sophie caught them both, one on each arm. "Is it just five million? Or a set of limited edition handbags? Consider it sorted."
With such tempting offers, Adler and Jenna's eyes sparkled.
"You should've mentioned this earlier!"
"Exactly! With perks like these, we'd have been on it in a heartbeat!"
They rushed back into the office, reinvigorated.
Reece, without even looking up, raised a hand. "Boss, I'm gonna need a seven-day vacation."
Julian strolled in and added, "Count me out, but maybe you could owe me one less favor, Ms. Sophie."
