Seeing Colby unmoved, Angelo cleared his throat and said, "Look, it's pretty straightforward. I'll help Sophie draft an article that'll stir public opinion and really put this so-called 'real heiress' in her place!"
Colby stayed silent, giving nothing away.
Angelo pressed on, "You know Sophie bought my paper, Emerging News, right? I used to be a journalist, and I've got connections everywhere! Access to the latest scoops! I can—"
"Get to the point."
"What I'm saying is... since Claire's claiming to be the Russell family's heiress, I'll dig up all the dirt on her. Make sure everyone knows she's a total fraud!"
"Is that it?"
"Yeah, that's it!"
"I'll handle it. You stay put."
"…"
Realizing Colby wasn't interested in his plan, Angelo quickly stepped forward. "Don't you trust my skills? I'm serious! This'll work! I've got firsthand info on Claire!"
It was only when Angelo mentioned this that Colby finally paused.
Thinking he might've finally gotten through, Angelo's eyes lit up. "So, you believe me now?"
"There are a lot of things I don't say outright, but that doesn't mean I'm clueless."
Colby, with a cool demeanor, added, "Tell whoever sent you that I’m not handing Sophie over to anyone but myself. Tell him to cut the games."
Hearing that, Angelo's smile froze.
By the time he snapped back to reality, Colby was gone.
With no other choice, Angelo slipped away to a quiet spot to secretly call James.
