Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1300

Odie suddenly blurted out something that snapped everyone back to reality, reminding them they needed to open the ledger first.

But as they flipped through the pages, it was all pretty mundane stuff—just the usual expenses of the four major families in Devonport. Nothing special at all.

"Maybe there's a hidden code? An acrostic poem or something?" Adler suggested, his imagination running wild.

Jenna shook her head. "For an acrostic poem, you need an actual poem. Look at this. It's just lists of wheat, oil, and flour. Nothing special."

"Yeah, you're right," Adler conceded.

"Jenna's spot on. It's all numbers, not words."

"Numbers? Like some old-school code? But that wouldn't make a treasure map," Adler mused, growing skeptical.

The more Jenna thought about it, the less likely it seemed. "Maybe we've got it all wrong. What if this isn't a treasure map at all?"

"Could it be just like the Aldridge family elders said? Just an ordinary ledger that we've hyped up?" someone pondered.

As everyone was deep in thought, Odie couldn't hold it in any longer. "Sophie, I need to ask you something."

"Oh? What’s up?" Sophie asked, curious.

Odie shot a glance at Colby and said, "Come with me outside."

"Why can't we talk here?" Sophie questioned.

"Outside!" Odie's temper flared.

Seeing Odie storm toward the door, Sophie sighed, looking helpless. She turned to Colby, "Can I go?"

Jenna and Adler watched Colby, eyes gleaming with curiosity.

"Sure," Colby replied nonchalantly.
