Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1207

"Explain yourself! What's James up to, sending you to spy on Sophie?"

Jenna shoved Angelo onto the living room couch, sweat already starting to drip from his forehead under the intense questioning from the three of them.

"Oh dear God! Just kill me now!" Angelo muttered.

He tried to defend himself, "You've got it all wrong. James? I barely know the guy."

Adler wasn't buying it. "We're not deaf, Angelo. We heard you loud and clear. Don't even think about denying it!"

"I—" Angelo stammered. Faced with Jenna and Adler's piercing gazes, he gritted his teeth and confessed, "Alright! Since you already know, I won't hide it. Truth be told... I've always suspected James had ulterior motives with Sophie! As your friend, I felt I had to do something. So, I got close to him to figure out what he's really up to!"

Jenna seemed half-convinced. "Really?"

"Of course! Who do you think I am? I'm the CEO of Pollard Enterprises! If I wanted to stay in touch with James, it would be a piece of cake!"

Adler still looked skeptical. "So, you're saying you haven't been working for James?"

"Come on! I'm the CEO of Pollard Enterprises. What's James in comparison? He's lost control of Burke International. Why would I listen to him or run errands for him? Does that make any sense to you?"

Adler was confused but couldn't deny that Angelo's reasoning seemed somewhat logical.

"You know, that does sound quite reasonable," Jenna said, exchanging a glance with Adler.
