Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1179

At Burke Manor.

"This is all my savings. When do I get that ten percent of the shares?"

Bea had laid out everything in front of Sophie, her expression a mix of desperation and hope.

Sophie glanced at the array of collectibles, raising an eyebrow. "They say in Devonport, no one knows jewels better than you, Bea. Your lifetime of savings is truly remarkable."

Despite the slight smile accompanying Sophie's words, Bea's face only darkened further.

Sophie picked up a bracelet from the table, admiration evident on her face. "Take this bracelet, for instance. You can tell it's worth a fortune, easily millions, Bea. Your taste is impeccable."

Bea caught the mockery in Sophie's tone and replied bitterly, "Yes, these items are valuable. But now, they're all yours."

Setting down the bracelet, Sophie smiled broadly. "Bea, we're both in business. I need some incentive to help you out. Seeing these collectibles, my mind's at ease. Rest assured, the ten percent of shares will be yours within seven days."

"Seven days? Why does it have to take seven days?" Bea was clearly unhappy with the delay.

Sophie sighed, "I wish it could be faster, but Mr. Odie holds the reins right now. It's going to take quite a bit of convincing to get him to release those shares. Bea, you should be a bit more understanding."

"You..." Bea's face was a picture of displeasure.

Sophie nonchalantly poured herself a cup of tea, suggesting, "Bea, we're about to have lunch here. Maybe we can talk about this in seven days?"

It was clear Sophie wanted to show her the door. Bea was ready to argue her case, but Rick, who was by her side, already spoke up, "Bea, please."
