Revenge is best served cold novel Chapter 1155

Facing the skeptical stares of the four, Timothy said, "That guy ordered me to kill you, but when things went south, the night you caught me, he showed up again. Threatening me with my parents' lives, he forced me to infiltrate your group. I had no choice but to help him."

"That makes sense."

Sophie nodded but continued, "What I need is a reason to believe you, and you haven't given me that reason yet."

"I..."

Timothy looked down and mumbled, "I can't give you a reason."

Adler chuckled, "Kid, you just rambled on, and it turns out you have no real evidence to make us trust you?"

"If I really wanted to kill Ms. Sophie, I wouldn't have shown up that night, hinting at Mr. Colby to rescue her."

Timothy looked earnestly at Sophie and said, "I owe Ms. Sophie my life. If danger comes her way in the future, I am willing to risk my own life to save hers."

"Touching words, but I'm not one for empty promises. If you want to prove your loyalty, don't wait for the future; do it now."

Sophie took the small computer from Adler and tossed it to Timothy, saying, "Send a message to your people now, stating that Sophie will be going to Burke International alone tomorrow, setting up an ambush."

Timothy was stunned.

Adler's eyes widened, "Sophie, I know you're eager to catch the person behind all this, but this is too risky! What if something happens to you on your way to Burke International?"

"Think about it, Sophie obviously won't be going there alone. We can set up an ambush halfway and maybe draw out the mastermind."

"What if the mastermind doesn't show up and only sends underlings? Wouldn't we be exposing ourselves? Timothy and his family would be doomed too!"

Hearing Adler's concern, Jenna paused, "You have a point."
