Chapter 93
In the party room, Abigail’s phone vibrated. She saw a video from a friend and clicked on it.
When Gabriel recovered from dizziness and disorientation, he saw a man in a restaurant uniform lying motionless in the middle of the road ahead. Panicked, he was about to call for help when he calmed down, immediately drove away, and fled back to Gibson Villa.
As soon as Gabriel returned to Gibson Villa, he heard Daniella’s sobbing. He felt his head about to explode, changed into slippers, and marched straight upstairs.
Annoyed by Daniella’s crying, Stephen turned and saw him. “Dad, where have you been these past few days?”
“Dad, Dani got bullied by Abby and her friends again tonight,” Christian snapped angrily. “Tell Mom to call Abigail back–i’ll teach her a lesson!*
Bianca’s voice came down from upstairs. “Abby won’t come back because she was too harsh before. How can I reason with that stubborn girl? Gabriel, you just drink whenever something happens!”
Already throbbing with a headache, Gabriel exploded at the overlapping voices. “Will you ever give me a break? You only know how to cry when things go wrong! If you have depression, take your pills and rest at home!”
His roar silenced Daniella.
“Do you think you’d get blacklisted if you hadn’t messed with Abigail or faked those photos?” he hissed. “I’ve asked around–everyone says Halden Group and Sebastian himself investigated. Do you think Sebastian would frame you?” With that, he stormed upstairs.
Tears still on her lashes, Daniella stared in horror. Gabriel had looked like a murderer tonight. The entire Gibson household fell silent under his wrath.
Once Gabriel shut his door, Stephen stood up and glanced at Daniella. back you up. Now he’s been humiliated.”

Daniella cried harder, shocked that Stephen wasn’t doting on her like before. “Stevie,” she called out, panicking.
Stephen glanced back. After years of spoiling his sister, he couldn’t bear being too harsh on her. “Abigail’s different now. She served three years in prison for you. We don’t know what she went through there. Pushing her will only backfire.”
“Are we supposed to coddle her?” Christian grumbled.
“She’s our sister too,” Stephen said coldly. “Why coddle Dani and not her? She served three years for Dani–we can’t be too good to her.” With that, he went upstairs.
At midnight, sirens outside Gibson Villa woke the neighbors. Bianca threw off her covers, rushed to the window, and paled at the sight of police cars. Memories of the day Abigail was taken away flooded back, along with the fear Abigail must have felt.
Gabriel sat on the bed, oddly calm. “Let’s go downstairs.”
They opened the door to find the lead officer storm in, flash his badge, and ask, “Is Stephen Gibson home?”
“He’s sleeping. What’s this about?” Bianca clutched Gabriel’s hand, voice trembling.
“He’s suspected of hit–and–run. We need to take him in for questioning,” the police officer said grimly.
