As Helen stood there frozen, Bianca emerged from the shadows nearby. She glanced at Helen calmly. “My daughter isn’t easy to deal with.”

“I remember your son was quite taken with Dani,” Bianca began. “I’d like to discuss this with you in detail.”

“Sure, but could you speak to Abigail about Sebastian targeting our family?” Helen knew perfectly well that going to Sebastian directly would be useless. Abigail was the key. Sebastian clearly adored her, and men like him had countless ways to pamper the women they loved.

“Of course. Wyatt is deeply concerned about what Dani did to her.” Bianca had already made up her mind–Daniella had to go.

Her life in the Gibson family wasn’t easy, and her presence brought nothing but chaos. Only after she left could Christian return home, and Stephen would stop his constant fighting with Christian.

“Then I’ll bring my son Tristan to visit tomorrow,” Helen said, her face lighting up with a warm, eager smile.

After Helen left, a flicker of guilt crossed Bianca’s face. ‘Perhaps marrying her off is for the best, she thought. ‘If Tristan cares for her as much as he seems to, he might even help her get a lawyer, maybe reduce her sentence.

After finishing her conversation with Adam, Abigail turned and left.

As she reached the villa’s courtyard, Ralph called out to her. “Abby!” He caught up from behind, still breathing heavily from running after her.

Abigail turned to face him but said nothing.

“I’ve been investigating Daniella’s hit–and–run case from back then. Once I get the results and you’re cleared, you can apply for compensation.

“Sebastian already told me about that,” Abigail cut him off.

She kept mentioning Sebastian in every sentence, and it stung Ralph deeply. ‘Why did she have to bring Sebastian to my birthday party? And now she keeps bringing him up on purpose?‘

“Okay,” Ralph said. It was all he could manage, his voice heavy with disappointment.

Abigail turned and walked away without another word.

“Do you really like Sebastian that much, Abby?” Ralph couldn’t help asking even after she’d walked several steps away.

“That’s none of your business,” Abigail replied coolly. “Besides, if you don’t look into it, I’ll find a way to investigate it myself.” Now she understood why Ralph and Stephen were so close.

Everyone said that when Sebastian cared about someone, he’d spoil them to the core. But once they parted ways, he became completely heartless. Yet Abigail thought Ralph and Stephen were the truly heartless ones.

Their hatred for Daniella seemed to kick in instantly, and they worked together to push her into a corner with no way out.
