Chapter 149
Chapter 149
“I don’t remember what she said. How did she cross the line?” Abigail asked curiously.
“I never believed you were someone’s mistress. What she said that day was really manipulative, trying to lead me in a certain direction. Once I figured out what she was doing, I made my choice,” Sebastian said.
Sebastian’s gaze was intense as he stared at Abigail. He pressed on with another question, “Don’t you think someone like that deserves to be dumped in public?”
Abigail felt embarrassed under his stare and looked away. She hadn’t realized that he’d broken up with that woman because of her. “Thank you.”
No matter what, she owed him that much, even if it was way overdue.
“Don’t mention it,” Sebastian said, drawing out his words with a hint of laughter in his voice.
They waited for a while until James came back with the medicine. As soon as he returned, he grabbed Sebastian’s hand to examine it. “Looks like you’re out of commission for tonight. Abby, I’m putting him in your hands, okay?”
“Of course,” Abigail immediately agreed. She was only peeting garlic in the kitchen anyway, so it didn’t matter.
Sebastian took the medicine and looked it over carefully. Then, he handed the antiseptic to Abigail. “Use this to clean my wound first.”
Abigail reached for it and twisted off the cap. She took a sniff and couldn’t help frowning, “It smells like pure alcohol. With a cut that deep, won’t it hurt like hell?”
“It’ll definitely hurt, but I can tough it out,” Sebastian said with a smile.
Abigail pulled over a trash can. She stared at the gash on Sebastian’s hand, holding the antiseptic bottle, but she couldn’t bring herself to pour it on.
Sebastian saw how slowly she was moving, so he grabbed her wrist and poured the antiseptic directly onto the cut himself.
The pain hit him hard and his face went pale. His jaw clenched tight from the sting.
Abigail watched sweat beads form on his forehead and nose, worry written all over her face. “How bad is it?”
“I’m fine.” Sebastian’s breathing got heavier. He picked up the antibiotic powder from the counter and handed it to her. “Sprinkle this on top, then wrap it with gauze.”
“Does your skin need to breathe?” Abigail asked as she poured the powder over his wound, her voice full of concern.
“Yeah, gauze lets air through better than band–aids,” Sebastian explained.
Abigail had been planning to put a few waterproof band–aids on his finger, but since he preferred gauze, she went with that instead. After sprinkling the powder, she carefully wrapped the gauze around his finger, taking her time to do it right.
Abigail tied a small knot at the end and sat back up straight, looking at Sebastian. “All done.”
Sebastian examined the bandage on his hand and nodded. “I’ll handle the garlic from now on. Maybe you can help them with something else?”
Abigail stood up and walked over to the kitchen island, glancing at Warren. “Is there anything I can help with?”
“Can you mince some ginger for me? Are you okay with ginger?” Warren asked with a gentle smile.

“Great. I need quite a bit of minced ginger, so just use this food processor and take your time,” Warren told her.
The food processor was compact and easy to handle. Abigail dropped the ginger pieces in, figured out how it worked, then pressed the button on the lid.
After finishing the cooking, they decided to move everything to the living room so they could eat while watching something. James, Warren, and Abigail started carrying the dishes over to the table.
