Revenge After Divorce (Olivia and Nick) novel Chapter 266

Chapter 266

Chapter 266

Marcus,he said, as if this were a casual conversation

I wanted to laugh. It wasn’t funny. Not even close. You better make sure you told me the truth about this, Nick,I said, my voice tight with barely controlled rage. Because if I get to that hotel and you’re not there; you won’t like what I do next. Trust me, Nick. I can do worse things than I’ve already done.”

I didn’t wait for him to respond. I couldn’t. I wasn’t going to waste my breath. My fingers hovered over the screen, and without a second thought, I ended the call, throwing the phone into the seat beside me. The nerve of him. The way he acted like nothing was wrong. As if I wouldn’t notice when things didn’t add up. But I was done playing

games

I was tired of pretending I didn’t know the truth. Nick had been avoiding me for days, dragging his feet, and it didn’t sit right with me. He had my wife. He had my family. And if he was hiding something, if he thought for one second that I wouldn’t find out, he was gravely mistaken

The island came into view as the car turned onto a narrow road that led into a small village. The further we went, the more isolated the area felt. I could see the hotel up ahead, a luxurious structure that looked out of place among the rustic charm of the surroundings. The kind of hotel where someone would hide a prisoner and pretend, they were doing it for her own good

The thought of Olivia being somewhere inside that hotel made my blood run cold. What had they done to her? What kind of nightmare was she living right now? I gripped the edge of the seat, feeling the anger begin to rise again

Pull up to the front,I ordered, and the driver obeyed without question

As the car came to a stop, I stepped out, my boots hitting the ground with a dull thud. The moment my feet touched the earth, a new wave of determination washed over me. This was it. The moment I’d been waiting for. I wasn’t leaving this island without Olivia

I scanned the area, taking in every detail. The beauty of the place was undeniable, but the thought of what it hid beneath the surface made me sick. I could feel the rage building inside me

e again, a dark, seething fire that threatened to consume everything in its path

Stay here,I told Steve, who had followed me out of the car. He didn’t argue, knowing better than to question me right now. I marched towards the entrance of the hotel, my mind set on one thing: Olivia

Before I stepped inside, I pulled out my phone again, and this time, I dialled Nick once more. I wasn’t going to give him the luxury of hiding from me. He had played his games for too long. It was time to end this

He answered after a few rings, his voice strained, as if he was already preparing for the storm that was coming his

way
