Rebirth of the Deadly Beauty novel Chapter 528

"The Boris Caldwell of Creybia's Famous Four?" Knox asked.

"Looks like you're not as stupid as I thought." Julie chuckled. "Since you know who Mr. Caldwell is, you should now understand who owns Caldwell Antiques, right?

"Did you think about the consequences of bringing your men in here to destroy Mr. Caldwell's shop?"

The more Julie spoke, the more brazen she was. She felt satisfied, like she had already stomped Knox deep into the ground. Her voice got more shrill.

"Even if it comes to your father, I don't think he would let himself go without a thought like this."

Edna, who was standing beside Julie, felt like she had gotten the support she needed and looked gloatingly at Knox. Her expression said, "Hah! You can't touch me."

"So what if the shop belongs to Mr. Caldwell?" Knox's expression darkened.

"I'm not just here with my men for fun and games. I've now understood that you had fully intended to harm me, so why can't I defend myself for that?"

"I've explained to you previously, Mr. Knox. I knew nothing about the bracelet beforehand. If you refuse to believe me, I can't do anything about it."

Edna was still arguing. As long as she insisted that she didn't know about it, Knox had no evidence to pin the poisoning attempt on her.

"In reality, both of us have misjudged the bracelet, thinking that it was something good when it was actually a dupe. Now that our transaction is done and dusted, you shouldn't have any more reasons to wreak havoc in my shop."

"Stop playing word games with me. Did you really think I'd just let you go?" Knox's patience was at its limits.

"Mr. Knox, you're a capable man. Of course, you could do something to me, but before you do, you have to think about the consequences first," Edna said with a smile.
