"It's really late now, and there are no cabs around here. I was worried that you wouldn't be able to head back even after you came down so since I have nothing else to do, I just waited for a little while."

After Yolanda entered her car, Sharon asked, "Where's your fiance?"

"He has some other things to deal with, so let's head back without him."

"Okay."

Sharon buckled her seatbelt and cranked up the air conditioner.

"If you have nothing to do, let's go have supper."

Yolanda glanced at Sharon. Initially, even though they weren't that close, Sharon still waited for her in the middle of nowhere for so long. So, she nodded and said, "Sure."

In response, Sharon smiled.

"What do you feel like eating? I'll buy you supper."

"Hey, I'm older! How can I allow you to pay?" Sharon was quick to reply.

"Don't worry. With where I'm at right now, I have no problem buying you supper."

Yolanda looked at Sharon pretending to be old and mature and smiled.

According to Sharon's age, she should still be working hard to enter university. However, she heard that Sharon didn't have great results, so she went to vocational school instead. Yolanda wondered if she would continue her studies now that she was wealthy.

Sharon seemed to have read Yolanda's mind as she said, "After we became wealthier, my dad hired someone to get me into university for three years of undergraduate studies followed by two years of graduate studies to do business management.

"It means that I would only need to study for two more years to get a college degree so no one would look down on me when I work alongside my dad doing business."

What Sharon didn't tell Yolanda was that her father's business was recently cash-strapped. Initially, it wasn't that big of a deal since all they needed to do was apply for a bank loan, and after a few months, they would be able to overcome this crisis.

However, because their family didn't have much connections, the loan application was still pending even after a very long time.

This was also why Sharon didn't dare to say anything back when Queenie ridiculed her at the cocktail party just now.
