"Okay. I got it."
Yolanda ended the call with Blake and called Zach right away.
Even if Blake said it was a really dangerous situation and that he didn't wish for her to get involved, she couldn't just stand and watch at the sideline after knowing ahead of time that Zach might be in danger.
Moreover, she didn't want to return to Creybia for now. If she wanted to continue extending her influence here in Riverdale, she would need Zach's connections and resources.
Yolanda didn't know what Zach was doing, but this was the first time he didn't answer the phone when Yolanda called.
A sense of foreboding loomed in Yolanda's heart. She dialed Zach's number again right away.
Gavin saw Yolanda's expression, understood the severity of the situation, and waited patiently by her side.
This time, when the call was about to be disconnected, it finally went through.
"Why are you calling me at this hour, Yolanda?" Zach's voice sounded faint and distant over the phone. It seemed like his connection was bad.
"Where are you? Why is your connection so bad?" Yolanda asked with a frown.
"I'm near Javea Hills. I'm about to head back to the city."
Javea Hills was a hill in the vicinity of Riverdale with a residential villa area nearby.
The Wright Group had recently developed new real estate projects there, and it seemed like Zach was there to oversee the project.
Almost immediately after Zach spoke, Yolanda heard the screeching sound of brakes on the phone.
"Zach? What's going on there?"
Sadly, Zach did not respond, even after a very long time. Through the phone, Yolanda could clearly hear the sounds of several gunshots being fired.
