"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'll have my men retreat right now!" Daniel said, looking anxious as if Yolanda's words could seal his fate.
His demeanor shocked both Lucia and Isaiah. Even Bryce, who was worried about Yolanda's safety, was taken aback by Daniel's reaction. He was unsure of how to respond.
He couldn't believe that the notorious Daniel, who was known for instilling fear, was intimidated by Yolanda. This was utterly shocking.
"They said you could kill me?" Yolanda asked, her expression calm and devoid of emotion.
Daniel broke into a cold sweat at her flat tone. "They were just talking nonsense! How could I dare to lay a hand on Ms. Henderson?
"Lucia is a distant cousin of mine. She called me saying someone was bullying her, so I came to check it out! I truly had no idea it was you, Ms. Henderson! If I had known, I wouldn't have dared to accept this job!"
Yolanda raised an eyebrow. "So you mean if it were another innocent person here, you would have acted?"
"No, no, no..." Daniel panicked and quickly shook his head. "Ms. Henderson, it's my bad! From now on, regardless of who asks me, I won't take on shady jobs like this!"
"Remember what you said today," Yolanda emphasized, causing another chill to run down Daniel's spine.
"Yes!" he replied eagerly. "No more next time. I promise!"
"I need to leave now. You can handle things here," Yolanda said as she walked past him.
"Ms. Henderson is leaving. You should follow her," Daniel called out.
