Esther's words came from the depths of her heart, but Pearl sensed that it was all a terrible misunderstanding. She tried to clarify, "Este, please don't make rash decisions. It's not what you think. I—"
Esther shook her head and gave a sad smile. "No, it's not a rash decision. I know many things, but I just never confronted him about them."
Pearl's frown deepened. Was there more going on that others didn't know about?
Esther decided to lay it all out. "Since you're family, I won't hide this from you. Mobius, you met up with another girl secretly, and you even went to a hotel. Do you think I was too stupid to find out?"
"Este, I—" Mobius's initial seriousness immediately wavered, and he found himself at a loss for words.
After seeing him stutter, Pearl's heart went cold. "Is that true, Mobius?" She knew Mobius well enough to believe he wasn't a cheater, but seeing him being confronted like this made her question the situation.
Mobius looked around anxiously before stammering out, "Pea, that was my friend. We had a teambuilding event, and my friends asked me to drop her off. I couldn't get her to tell me her address, so I took her to the hotel, but nothing happened."
"Do you know how I found out?" Esther smirked sadly and pulled out her phone, shocking everyone with a photo.
The image clearly showed Mobius and the girl on a hotel bed, their skin exposed, appearing quite intimate.
Pearl couldn't understand how Esther managed to act like nothing had happened, as it was nearly impossible to accept such news. She felt a deep sense of sympathy for Esther and said softly, "Este—"
Among them all, Esther was undoubtedly suffering the most. She lowered her head, fidgeted with her shirt's hem with trembling hands, and calmly said, "Let's go, Pearl."
"Okay." Pearl didn't want to force her to stay, so she stood up and held Esther's cold hand. Her own heart ached, even though she wasn't directly involved in the situation.
Susan couldn't believe that her son would do something like this, and she refused to let their relationship crumble so easily. She stood up, approached them, and anxiously implored, "Este, please give him another chance. There must be some misunderstanding. You know Mobius wouldn't do this…"
