Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 421

Claire furrowed her brows and glanced up at the second floor. Christian was standing there, giving her a nod. It was his way of telling her she could go. He’d handle things from here.

Without another word, Claire left.

The maid stood frozen for a moment, still in shock. She knew Julian had been searching everywhere for Madeline. She wanted to run after Claire, but before she could move, Christian called her to his study.

Claire stepped outside just as Julian was coming back. Sitting in his car, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure. His heart skipped. For a split second, he thought he saw her.

But almost instantly, the figure melted into the darkness.

Julian turned away and let out a bitter laugh.

Ever since Madeline left, he saw her everywhere. Every silhouette reminded him of her.

But where was she now?

Who was that woman in the video?

If it wasn’t Madeline, how could she look so much like her? And why would she try to drag Madeline into this mess?

Julian rubbed his temples. The more he thought about it, the messier it all seemed.

Winter faded and spring crept in.

Early morning sunlight streamed across a woman’s face. The room was bright and full of life, but for her, everything was swallowed by darkness.

A darkness that seemed endless.

Madeline didn’t know how long she’d been wandering in that darkness. She didn’t even know if there was an end. The path ahead was pitch black. She couldn’t see a thing.

She was exhausted. Every part of her ached with tiredness. She wanted to just lie down and give up. But as the shadows pressed in, flashes of memory raced through her mind. There were still so many things she needed to do. So many important people waiting for her.

She couldn’t stop now.

Madeline forced herself up, using every last bit of strength. A small beam of light shimmered ahead, and she chased after it, running with everything she had.

Suddenly, the light wrapped around her. Her eyelashes trembled.

“She’s waking up. Jordan, come on, Madeline’s waking up.”

An excited voice called out, and a second later, Casey rushed into the room.
