Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 368

If he didn’t care about her, then why would he be afraid of anyone’s threats?

“You’re the heir to Grayson Enterprises. How can you let yourself have a weakness?” Christian’s voice was low and heavy, and his cane struck the floor with a sharp thud.

He took a few deep breaths, fixing his eyes on Julian. “I’m going to ask you one last time. Will you…”

Before he could finish, Julian cut him off.

“Don’t.”

Julian’s voice was cold and steady. “My answer hasn’t changed.”

His dark eyes locked on his grandfather.

“I’m not marrying her. Stop wasting your time.”

Christian’s hand tightened around his cane as he glared at his grandson, his anger practically radiating off him. He raised the cane about to strike.

Julian stood still, not moving an inch. He didn’t even blink.

“Julian!” Christian’s grip was so tight his veins stood out on his forehead. The cane hung in the air for a moment, but in the end, he just couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Instead, he let out a bitter laugh. “Fine. Let me remind you, I’m your grandfather. I’ve already made the announcement. There’s no going back now…”

“Go ahead and hold your event. I won’t be there. Think about who’s really going to be embarrassed then.”

Julian turned and walked out, the chill of his anger following him.

Josh came down the hall just then. “Julian.”

“Yeah.”

The word had barely left Julian’s mouth when a cane came flying out of the meeting room.

“Julian, this is not up for debate!”

“Shit.” Josh dodged, wide-eyed as he stared at the cane lying on the floor. He poked his head around the door just in time to see Christian, red-faced and fuming.

Sensing disaster, Josh jumped in, “Christian, please calm down. I’ll go get him back right now.”

He hurried after Julian and pushed open the office door, sticking his head inside. “Julian? Hey, I’m coming in.”

The office felt heavy. Julian stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, and even from across the room, Josh could feel the tension rolling off him.

Josh didn’t need to ask what happened. Anyone could guess it was about the mess online.

After everything Helene had done, Julian was already being generous not sending her straight to jail. Marrying her was never going to happen.

Josh wandered over, grabbed two glasses, and poured them both a drink. He handed one to Julian and kept the other for himself. For once, his usual playful tone was gone, replaced with something more serious. “Julian, why did you let your grandfather get to you? You know what he’s like.”

Julian tossed back the drink in one gulp.

His mood, already bad, only grew worse.

“Is there any way to get him to back off?”

The question caught Josh off guard.
