The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1090

"Your mother is still part of the Davidson family. Don't you have any regard for family ties, for your mother's feelings?"

"Family ties?" Alexander scoffed, his eyes filled with ridicule and sorrow. "You want to talk about family ties with me now? When my dear brother was committing those heinous acts, did he ever think about family? When he dragged the Davidson family's reputation through the mud and made Mother cry her eyes out day after day, did he ever think about family?"

Jake’s face flushed red, then turned pale. He opened his mouth but couldn't find a single word to refute him. He knew Alexander was right, but a father couldn't simply favor one hand over the other. He couldn't just stand by and watch his eldest son's life waste away in prison.

Seeing his father's pathetic state, Alexander’s tone grew even colder. "Since you value family so much, let me ask you a question." He paused, his gaze as sharp as a blade, pinning Jake in place. "If you could only save one of them, Harold or Nathan, who would you choose?"

Jake froze, his expression stiffening on his face. He never expected Alexander to throw such a question at him.

Harold and Nathan were connected by a tangled web. Harold had subtly fanned the flames behind Nathan’s case all those years ago, though there was never any concrete proof. And for years, Jake had been secretly in contact with Harold.

Alexander had long known about his father's dealings with Harold but had never called him on it. By raising this question at such a critical moment, he was striking at Jake's weakest point.

"What… what do you mean?" Jake's voice trembled slightly, and he couldn't meet Alexander’s eyes.

"I don't mean anything," Alexander said, his tone flat as he looked away. "I just want you to understand, Father, that some choices are never black and white. Family is important, but right and wrong cannot be confused. Nathan's crimes are his own, and he should face the consequences himself. I won't interfere, and I ask that you stop pressuring me."
