The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1067

Regardless of the reason, his starting point was always what he believed to be the optimal decision. He loved her, and he could live without being with her, as long as she was safe. Her feelings would always come second to their well-being. What he wanted didn't matter; what mattered was that the people he cared for were safe and sound. After leaving her with those words, Alexander turned and left, hoping she would consider his words carefully.

The next morning, Alexander’s words from the night before replayed in her mind like a relentless carousel. The alarm finally jolted her from her thoughts, and she dragged her exhausted body out of bed. As she entered the living room, the doorbell rang.

When she opened it, Alexander was standing there, holding two paper bags from the bakery she had loved back in high school. “They’re still warm,” he said, handing them to her. “After you eat, I’ll drive you to NextCore. There’s something I need to show you.”

Danielle stared at the bags for a few seconds before finally taking them. While heating up some milk in the kitchen, she watched the foam rise and swirl, her emotions just as turbulent. This man always knew exactly how to find her soft spot, yet just when she thought she might be getting closer, he would push her away.

They ate in silence before driving to NextCore. The office was empty except for Nash Langley, whom Alexander had asked to come in early. He stood by the desk, holding a thick stack of files. Seeing Danielle, Nash gave a polite nod and placed the documents on the table. “Mr. Davidson, here are the files you requested.”

Alexander took them. “Thank you, Nash. You can head back now.” As Nash turned to leave, he gave Danielle a pointed look.
