The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1061

Just then, Kirsten Delaney let out a derisive laugh as she looked at Lorie Gaylord. “Some people are just gluttons for punishment. It’s her own engagement, but she has to drag everyone else into it. Does she think that by getting Dani to show up, it’ll suddenly make her party seem high-class? She should really take a look in the mirror and consider her own standing.”

Without giving Lorie a chance to retort, she looped her arm through Danielle Crawford’s. “Dani, let’s not waste our time here. We can check out another boutique. The sight of some people is just ruining my appetite.”

Danielle allowed Kirsten to lead her away, turning without a second glance at Lorie and walking briskly out of the store.

As she passed Alexander Davidson, her eyes met his for a fleeting moment. His gaze seemed to hold a storm of complex emotions, but he remained silent, rooted to the spot.

The second their figures vanished from the doorway, the gentle smile Lorie had been wearing shattered, replaced by a mask of pure fury. She tightened her grip on Alexander’s arm and stomped her foot, her voice thick with grievance and frustration. “Alex, did you see them? Kirsten was so cruel, and Danielle completely ignored me! They were deliberately trying to humiliate me!”

Alexander’s voice was flat, betraying no emotion. “You brought that on yourself.”

His words were like a splash of cold water, extinguishing half of Lorie’s anger but making her feel even more wronged. She dropped his arm and stepped in front of him, her eyes flashing with indignation. “Alexander, I’m your future wife! We’re about to be engaged! In a situation like that, not only did you not defend me, you basically sided with them! Whose side are you on?”

The nearby store clerks, sensing the escalating argument, quickly looked down and pretended to adjust the gowns on the racks, not daring to get involved. The atmosphere in the boutique grew thick with tension.
