Olisha stepped forward. "I will go upstairs and check."
"Okay," Anne replied.
Just as Anne agreed, she saw her father walk into the room. "Daddy!"
Max's expression was as calm as ever. He walked over and gently ruffled her hair with his large hand. "We are going to your great-grandmother's house for dinner tonight."
"Okay," Anne said, turning to look at her mother. "Then Mommy will come with us."
Felicia smiled gently. "I have ’t fully recovered from my illness yet. I want to rest at home today. You and Daddy should go ahead, Anne."
Anne opened her mouth to argue.
Max intervened. "Anne, let Mommy get some proper rest at home."
Anne looked back at her father. "Okay then."
Felicia glanced at the man seated at the head of the table.
Max met her gaze. "If you feel bored, you can have your friends come over to keep you company."
His tone was surprisingly mild. Felicia could not help but freeze for a moment, making her wonder if the cold look he gave her last night had just been her imagination.
Felicia softly replied, "I might need to visit my parents' house today."
Around five in the afternoon, Max took Anne to the Hawthorne family estate.
Shortly after they left, Felicia returned to the Ross residence.
She told Colton and Ava about her plans to go to Cloudville.
Hearing her decision, the couple fell silent.
Compared to Ava's reluctance to see her go, Colton was much calmer.
Since Darin had spoken to him about this beforehand, Colton wanted the siblings to reunite as soon as possible. With Darin there to look after her, he felt completely at ease about Felicia going to Cloudville.
Felicia held Ava's hand to comfort her. "Mom, it is not that far. It is only a two hour flight. I can come back whenever I want."
Ava naturally understood that.
Now that Max had made their relationship public, Felicia continuing to work at Roen Capital would surely draw gossip, yet she could not just resign.
