The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 577

Felicia settled onto the other side of the bed. “Someone actually tried to mess with you here. And you actually got caught in it? I guess you really are easy to take advantage of.”

Max glanced over at her, his voice light and teasing. “Yeah, I am. So maybe you should stick by my side and keep an eye on me.”

Felicia narrowed her eyes, a strange, uneasy feeling creeping in. The more she thought about what had just happened, the more she suspected he’d done it on purpose.

She stared at him for a moment. “You really are cunning.”

Now she couldn’t help but wonder if he was like this the last time. But that didn’t quite fit. After what happened before, he’d acted like he couldn’t stand her, always so cold and serious at work, never even cracking a smile.

Max just smiled, glancing at the fresh clothes laid out nearby. “Help me get changed.”

Felicia turned away, pretending she hadn’t heard him.

He didn’t get upset. Instead, he grabbed the clothes and started loosening the belt of his robe.

Felicia caught what he was doing and shot him a look. “What do you think you’re doing?”

The belt was already undone, the robe barely hanging on. It looked like it might slip off at any second, showing off his chest, his toned body, and a flash of long legs.

“If you’re not going to help, I’ll just do it myself,” Max said, totally unfazed.

Felicia glared at him. “You ever heard of changing in the bathroom?”

Max arched a brow, smirking. “We’re married. What’s the big deal?”

Felicia spun around and got up to leave. But Max took a quick step, blocking her path. “Fine, I’ll use the bathroom.”

His hair was a total mess, no style whatsoever.

Max was the kind of guy who always cared about his image. No matter what, he never lost his cool. Nothing and no one ever seemed to shake him.

But now, looking at his reflection, Felicia had to admit he was still ridiculously good-looking, no matter what angle. The sight actually made her feel a little better. “So… happy now?”

Max ran his fingers through his hair. It didn’t help, just made him look even wilder, like a whole different person from the one everyone knew.

He turned to her, and with one easy move, wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her onto his lap.

“You…”

Before she could finish, he dipped his head and kissed her. It was just a quick, soft kiss, barely more than a brush, but he lingered for a moment, the touch warm and gentle.
