The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha novel Chapter 9

Nathaniel glances around the large dim room with pictures decorating the wall, a fireplace that keeps the room warm during frigid weather, and soft cushions.

Observing the placement of furniture and antics, Nathaniel could tell what type of man Bernard was even though he had not met him. Once the rain had stopped and the midday sun cast through the city, Alexandra and Nathaniel left the restaurant, returning to the Guerrero house.

"So who is it?" Bernard asks as he strolls down the stairs into the living room with Olivia, Veronica, and Alexandra trailing behind him.

Entering the living room, Bernard halts as he meets Nathaniel's intense gaze, firm and unblinking looking into his eyes.

Advancing towards him, Bernard extends his hand. "Bernard Guerrero, Alpha of the Guerrero pack"

Nathaniel rises, shaking his hand. "Nathaniel Starkov, Alpha of Crimson pack"

Hearing his deep baritone voice, Olivia gawks at Nathaniel, she hadn't seen such a handsome man, whose demeanor sent chills down her body. She wonders what he was doing in their house and how Alexandra had met him.

"What brings you here?" Veronica asks

"I invited him here" Alexandra states from behind and they stare at her.

Olivia scoffs, infuriated. "Why?"

Gazing into their eyes, Alexandra moves towards Nathaniel, standing next to him, Olivia boils with anger, her heart ripping apart with jealousy. "Alpha Nathaniel here is my mate"

Startled, Olivia and Veronica gawk at them.

"What…what did…did you just say?" Olivia stutters

"Nathaniel is my mate"

"How is that possible?" Veronica asks

Observing them, Nathaniel had confirmed his suspicion, even though he didn't know the entire story, he had realized Alexandra must have had a tough time with her family.

"How is what possible?" Nathaniel gazes at Veronica and she clears her throat realizing herself.

"Nothing… em… you're welcomed to our home Alpha Nathaniel, I hope we will see again" she leaves and Bernard goes after her, uncertain what to say.

Olivia stares at Nathaniel and Alexandra, overwhelmed by jealousy, she had never expected her mate to be such a muscular man, whose biceps hide under his shirt. Olivia molds her fist, uncertain what to say, she leaves and Nathaniel looks at Alexandra.

"Are you okay?"

She smiles. "Of course"

"Your family, they are a lot" He adds, uncertain of the right words to say

"A lot?" She raises her brow, curious

"Nothing"

"Okay. Wait here, I need to change my clothes"

"Alright, take your time"

Without uttering another word, Alexandra leaves and Nathaniel stands up, strolling towards Bernard's portrait hanging on the wall, next to it is Olivia and Veronica's portrait. He glances around, realizing there was no picture of Alexandra hanging on the wall, a lot of things run through his mind. Moving away, advances towards the lovely art of a wolf, and a smile creeps on his face.

"That's me"

"Ah! I don't mind if she has a boyfriend or husband, she's my mate and that alone is worth more than any other thing"

"You're just saying this because you don't know what sort of person she is, Alexandra Guerrero is a conniving little snake, don't trust her because the moment you do, she will ruin you along with your pack"

"Is that all?"

"Yes… I mean no. She's a tramp who moves from an Alpha to a beta and sometimes even an Omega, trust me, Alexandra isn't some innocent girl you think she is"

"Are you done?"

Olivia opens her mouth to say something when her peripheral vision falls on Alexandra standing by the corner, gawking at her, a smile glued to her face.

"Are you done?"

Dropping her gaze on her, Olivia tenses up, glancing back at Nathaniel. "Yea I… see you around" she scurries away and Nathaniel shakes his head unbelievably.

"You seem to be having quite the time"

Turning around, Nathaniel locks eyes with Alexandra.

"I would have if you were the one next to me" he strolls closer to her, and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, whispering. "So will you stay with me or are you going to leave since you are the next Alpha, your family relationship must be stiff"

Alexandra scoffs unbelievably, she had thought he was implying about Olivia and felt sorry for her. "You can run along to her since you have a habit for been too caring"

"What?"

"Maybe the both of you make a good pair" Alexandra states, walking away
