The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha novel Chapter 184

"You are crazy"

Adam tsk. "Too bad you are not seeing the bigger picture"

"I'm not seeing anything. The only I'm seeing is your unwelcoming face"

"Well my unwelcoming is going to be hunting you so you better get used to me because soon, it will be the two of us"

"I will never have anything to do with you"

"Well you will have no choice!" Adam glared at her having had enough of her rejection.

Once Nathaniel was out of the picture, Alexandra was going to be stuck with him for good. After then he would decide between her and Olivia who would be by his side. Of course he was going to pick Olivia, she was easy to control but Alexandra was what he wanted to control. He wanted to tame her, to bruise her ego and make her see that he was better than Nathaniel.

"I have a choice as long as Nathaniel is alive"

"Is he alive?" He arched up his brow stroking her sense of curiosity and she eyes him up.

She could sense he was talking about Nathaniel's injuries, the fact that he was healing slowly.

"He's alive"

"Is he?"

"Fine you got help or what?"

Adam grinned. "You know what Alexandra, you know me too much and that's what I hate the most"

"What?"

"I love to come off as a surprise. To make people bewildered but you always are the difficult one"

"Does it have anything to do with Nathaniel?"

"Maybe yes or not"

"Stop playing games with me"

"Isn't it your specialty? You love to play games. That's how you were able to convince me that you were fragile"

"You started it, I only followed your trail"

"That's true!" Adam snapped his finger in confirmation "I hate to see you like this" He lied. He loved seeing her sad and lonely.

"You think I'm stupid to believe your lies"

"Think whatever you want Alexandra but my sincerity is clearly written in my eyes. Look closely and you will see it"

Alexandra stared into his eyes. Although she was studying the lines of his, she knew already he was lying and mocking her. Adam was that sort of person, she hurt his ego and so he would want to make her suffer. Is only a shame he picked Nathaniel.

"You know come to think about it, all of this is your entirely your fault"

"What is?"

"The reason you are suffering and Nathaniel as well"

"Alpha Nathaniel, show some respect"

Adam scoffed, the nerve of her to demand such in his territory. Nathaniel was withering, she just hasn't realised it yet. "Get off your high horse Alexandra, the world doesn't revolve around you"

"Neither does it revolve around you" she retorts

"What?"

"He's alive"

"As if" He grinned "You call this been alive. Your Nathaniel brought this upon himself"

Alexandra glared at him, Nathaniel didn't do anything. He had nothing to do with their fight, Adam was the vicious one who doesn't play fair. He has always been a snake and Alexandra didn't see that soon.

"He's arrogance cost him his life"

"Don't talk as if he's dead"

"Is he alive?" He arched his brow pissing her off even more.

"He's more alive than you will ever be"

"Arrogance. That's the same thing that got him here and yet here you are exhibiting the same attitude"

"You did this to Nathaniel"

"I didn’t do anything. The young man brought this upon himself. He's greatest sin was eating the forbidden and threading on dangerous territory"

"Eating the forbidden?"

"He challenged me when he sneaked into here, killed my guard's and took you away. You shouldn't have defiled me and gone with him"

"You're crazy. You got lucky because you cheated. You couldn't have beat Nathaniel, not in this life time nor in the next to come. You don't have what it takes to beat me let alone the man who is stronger than I am"

The look in Adam's eyes said it all, Alexandra had hit a nerve reminding him the sole reason why he hated her and Nathaniel. He bore grudges against Nathaniel since their encounter at the ceremony and he hated Alexandra for been better than him.

"Maybe I don't but at least I'm not the one whose mate is dying slowly" He said. His gaze wicked as ever and that was when Alexandra solved the answer to the riddle.
