The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha novel Chapter 172

Alexandra grabbed hold of her clothes. Her only wish was to put an end to Adam's torturous questions. That way she could figure out why Nathaniel wasn't healing fast despite been an Alpha.

"Don't keep me waiting Alexandra" His arrogance floods the room.

Alexandra bites her lips, she had not thought she would live to see the day when she would be at his mercy.

When she paraded herself around, she did it with pride. Pride that she was among the very few werewolves in the pack who remained unaffected and unimpressed by Adam's looks. She was among the few who didn't get down with him so she was never at his mercy. He had nothing against her else he would have used it to blackmail her into a corner.

Then she would have lost her position a long time ago. No. She wouldn't have participated in the ceremony. Adam would have turned it into a show case and everyone in the pack would be talking about her.

"Why do you want to know? It has nothing to do with my offer"

"Oh it has everything" Adam grinned.

He was jealous of the fact that it was still Nathaniel at the end. Even though he was unconscious, he was still his rival.

"It has nothing"

"It has everything" He barked. His eyes turns red and Alexandra saw that he was simmering with anger. But why?

"I don't understand what else you want. I gave you the very thing you always wanted, take it Adam"

Glaring at her, Adam held her jaw tightly. The urge to capture her lips shot through his mind but he pushed it aside. Alexandra made his blood boil and not in the good way.

She might hit him if he attempts to steal a kiss or worse she could back out from the deal. Although Adam could sense that the latter was not going to happen if she tries it. Not that he wasn't still going to kill Nathaniel, he was.

"I want you to tell me why he can make you change your mind but I can't" He loosens his grip and steps backward.

"He is my mate"

"I know that. You have said like a million times Alexandra, I'm sick of hearing that"

Alexandra was lost. Adam was acting like a nut job. What should matter to him is his pack. The position, becoming the Alpha, that's all he lived for. That's why he killed her in the past.

"What else do you want me to say?"

"Why him? Why must it be him? Why is he the one to make you change your mind?"

"He is my mate" Alexandra said like though her response has changed from earlier.

"I get that. Why is it him? I told you to give me your position. I wanted to strike a deal"

"You wanted to steal what's mine"

"Are you seriously asking me that?"

"Yes. I really want to know who you are that I should change my mind. You are nothing to me and we have nothing in common".

Adam was certain she meant every word she said to him.

"The only thing keeping us together is this position so take it. I will do whatever you want me to. I will make sure you become the greatest Alpha Guerrero pack will ever have so don't hurt him"

Adam smiled. He loved it when she stroked his ego, it made him feel important.

"You damn know how to use your words"

"I beg your pardon"

Adam stared intently at her. Deep down he felt Alexandra’s feeling for Nathaniel was strong. She loved him, he was safe, always there to protect her, comfortable, everything she wanted. Those feelings are what he can never have, not from anyone. Not even Olivia would give up her desires just to save him.

She would instead form an alliance with the enemy, scheming for possible ways to end him.

As a jealous feeling shot through him, Adam hastily strikes his sword against a vase on the table, shattering it. Alexandra frowned, stunned by his action. This wasn’t the reaction she was looking for when she gave him an offer, she wanted a simple nod on the head so she can be on her way with Nathaniel.

But from the look of things, it seemed like Adam was not going to let them go, at least not how she expected it to be.
