Looking deep into his eyes, Alexandra stands up, he gazes back at her, his breath fanning her face.

"Everything I said to you was not true"

Nathaniel turns his face around, not wanting to hear anymore but Alexandra holds his face, looking into his eyes.

"It wasn't true Nathaniel"

"I don't believe"

"Why would I want to run away from you? Why will I want to have anything to do with Adam?"

"You said so"

"I only said it because he was right there but please believe me, Nathaniel, this isn't what I wanted"

"What is it you Wanted?"

"I never wanted to hurt you"

"But you did Alexandra and do you know how that made me feel?"

"I don't know" she lies

"It made me feel like a fool, you played me for a fool"

"I didn't mean to, what I said that day didn't mean anything. I had to do it"

"You're justifying your actions instead of apologizing"

"Yes," she states, her face an inch away from his. "Yes I wish I can go back in time"

"I would have done it a better way"

"You are unbelievable" Nathaniel moves away, trying to control himself.

"What I mean is that I wouldn't have hurt you or made the wrong choice. I would have never hurt you"

"What would you have done when he is around you?" He states hating to say Adams's name.

"I would have chosen to tell you the truth"

"And hurt your precious Adam"

"Adam means nothing to me"

"How am I to believe you?"

"He never meant anything to me and you know this" she pleads with her eyes but Nathaniel was still pissed off at her.

Alexandra has given him a million reasons to doubt her words and he has given her none, it was always her he would choose to stand with even when other girls make advances at him and he did everything just to make her feel comfortable.

He would agree that he wasn't the perfect mate for her but he was better than Adam Hawthorn and would treat her better.

"I see the way you looked at him"

"It didn't mean anything, I see the way you act when with him"

"Nathaniel" she muttered

"Are you going to deny it?"

"I don't act in a special way when it comes to him"

"Yes you do and I know that you like him"

"I don't like him, how can you even say that?"

"No wonder you let him spend the night in your bedroom"

"He's an Alpha!" Nathaniel states loudly "You didn't even want to stay in the inn with me and we never shared a room"

"I… he…" Alexandra opens her mouth and closes it not trying to form the right word. She didn't have the right answers anymore.

Without saying a word, she walks to the bed and reclines down, feeling her strength drain.

"Go home, Alexandra"

"Don't tell me that" she snapped

"What are you doing here then? I don't want your precious Adam to come rushing down here"

"He won't come here"

"Why are you so sure?"

"Because I will kill him if he comes here and you will kill him as well"

Nathaniel smiles not sure what to say anymore.

"I would never want Adam Hawthorn"

"Let's say I believe you, what should I do?"

"What do you mean?"

"What do you want me to do?" He raises his brow

"Nothing I just want to tell you the truth"

Staring intently at her, Nathaniel smiles, he didn't believe her and thought she was head over heels in love with Adam Hawthorn.

"Does it count?"

"I don't know"

"It doesn't and I don't believe you either"

Tears cloud Alexandra's eyes. "How could you say that?"

"What were you expecting?"

"I thought I did everything, I told you the truth Nathaniel, please believe me"

"How can I believe you when you give me a lot of reasons not to" he states with sincerity seeing right through her aware that she wasn't telling the whole truth and he wanted to get to the bottom of it all.
