Callahan catches the shift in Hackett's expression. The icy smirk returns to his lips as he leans slowly into his chair. "Actually, no. The offer has changed. You've hesitated too long, and my time is incredibly valuable. I'm dropping it to two hundred and fifty million."

"What?" Hackett freezes, the color draining from his face. "Mr. Langley, you just said three—"

They had hesitated for barely a minute, and it just cost them fifty million dollars. Hackett's chest tightens in panic.

While he is still reeling, Callahan casually glances at his watch, his tone utterly indifferent. "Two hundred million. One hundred and fifty million..."
