The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 608

Yvonne recounted the elevator incident to Judie in painstaking detail, from beginning to end. She concluded, "For some reason, they are giving each other the silent treatment."

"What?" Judie nearly jumped out of her seat. "The silent treatment?"

She had just assumed her cousin was having a simple jealous fit.

Yvonne nodded. "Looks like it."

Judie was incredulous, unable to process the news for a long moment. She muttered to herself, "That's impossible. I know my cousin Callahan has his flaws…"

She began counting Callahan's "flaws" on her fingers with a serious expression. "Not only is he cold as ice, he gives everyone that stony-faced look like the whole world owes him money! And he has a terrible temper. I broke one of his models when we were kids, and he didn't speak to me for three months! Plus, he's so ridiculously principled that Dante has complained about him behind his back countless times."

The more Judie spoke, the more worked up she got, and the more she became convinced it was Callahan's fault. "With a personality like my cousin's, it's not impossible that he and Leilani would end up in a cold war!"

Yvonne listened, stunned. After a moment, she asked hesitantly, "...Are you complimenting your cousin or insulting him?"

Judie blinked innocently. "Insulting him, of course! Who could put up with a personality like that?"

Yvonne was silent for a few seconds before pointing out quietly, "But all those 'flaws' you just listed… that's how he is with other people." She paused. "With Leilani, he is… completely different, isn't he?"

Judie was taken aback, then pouted. "Well, that's true… He's ridiculously gentle with Leilani."

As she spoke, she started to sound a bit jealous herself. "Tsk, as his cousin, I've never gotten that kind of treatment!"
