The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 531

Callahan's jaw clenched. "She lost too much blood and passed out. The helicopter will be here in five minutes. We're taking her straight to Capital Military Hospital."

Lennox nodded, lowering his voice. "Who are these guys? They're incredibly arrogant even after getting caught."

"Professional outlaws," Callahan said, his eyes freezing over as he glanced at the thugs still smirking while being shoved into the police cruisers. "They have significant backing."

He couldn't fathom how Leilani had gotten tangled up with them.

In the backseat of the Maybach, Leilani lay quietly. Her face was as pale as paper, and only her faint breathing proved she was still alive.

Callahan gently stroked her cheek. His fingertips picked up the still-wet blood, and the invisible hand gripping his heart tightened even further. He leaned in and whispered into her ear, his voice rough with emotion. "I swear, I'll make them pay ten times over for what they did to you."

...

Morning light filtered through the gap in the curtains, casting a soft glow on the pristine white bedsheets.

Leilani lay peacefully in the hospital bed. Her complexion was still pale, but her breathing had steadied. An IV line was attached to her arm, and the wound on her waist was heavily wrapped in thick bandages, though a faint tint of red could still be seen seeping through.

Callahan sat by the bedside, his defined fingers gently wrapping around hers. His hand was warm, in stark contrast to Leilani's icy touch.

The door of the hospital room was gently pushed open, and Lennox walked in holding a stack of medical reports.

"Boss, the doctor said Ms. Sloan will be fine," Lennox whispered. "She suffered significant blood loss, but none of her internal organs are damaged. She just needs a few days of rest."

Callahan didn't say a word. He merely nodded, his gaze never leaving Leilani's face.

Lennox let out a sigh and placed the reports on the nightstand. "We've dug up the background on those men. They really are from Northern Myanor's 'Viper'."
