The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 510

Ever since Tamara got pregnant, she hadn't been able to attend prenatal appointments openly. Furthermore, she hadn't taken any of the essential prenatal vitamins and supplements required during pregnancy.

On the drive back, Tamara stared at the scenery blurring past the window and suddenly broke the silence. "Josiah, thank you."

Josiah knew exactly what she was referring to. Driving with one hand on the steering wheel, he replied in a flat tone, "There's no need to thank me. I'm just doing what I should."

After all, Tamara's pregnancy was beneficial to the Sloans. Even though they had their disagreements in the past, she was still the younger sister he had watched grow up. Now that she was pregnant, he wasn't cold-hearted enough to leave her in the lurch.

Despite Josiah's dismissive response, Tamara didn't want to let go of this opportunity to rebuild her goodwill with him. "Don't say that, Josiah. Nothing you do is simply an obligation. I know I was wrong in the past, and I dragged the family down..."

Through this ordeal, Tamara had clearly realized that her eldest brother, Josiah, was the only one she could truly rely on in this household.

Zeus was rarely home, entirely devoted to his academic research; they were lucky if he returned three times in half a year. Relying on him was a dead end, and she would be better off finding her own way out.

As for Clive, he had been spoiled as the youngest child. He was eccentric, prone to throwing tantrums when things went wrong, and now he was barely keeping his own head above water. Counting on him was out of the question. At this point, Tamara was just thankful that Clive wasn't pestering her to solve his own messes.

Josiah, on the other hand, had been groomed as the heir since childhood. Though he had a cold personality, his capabilities and methods in handling crises were leagues beyond what Zeus or Clive could ever hope to achieve.

After this incident, Tamara finally understood her position. As long as she was still a member of the Sloans and remained useful to the family, Josiah would never abandon her. Realizing this, the panic she had felt after falling out of favor completely vanished.
