Leilani stopped. Although Dante loved playing matchmaker, his attitude toward her had been kind throughout the treatment. Leilani wasn’t heartless. She had noticed the coffee and fruit Dante prepared before her arrival each time, and the small gifts he had the housekeeper give her when she left. So, she had been especially diligent in her treatment.
She could refuse the blind date, but leaving without giving Dante a way to contact her seemed too cold.
Resigned, Leilani finally recited her number under Dante’s expectant gaze.
Dante beamed as he added her, then casually transferred 5 million dollars. “Medical fees! No take-backs!”
Leilani was utterly taken aback by his actions. This old man was so willful it was impossible to be mad at him.

Zamora, Premier’s Conference Hall.
Callahan finished reading the last document and checked the time. It was 5 PM. That “Dr. Cheney” should have left by now.
Lennox reported in a low voice, “Mr. Langley, just got a call from Meryl. Dr. Cheney has left. The treatment went smoothly.”
Callahan’s eyes darkened slightly. “What does she look like?”
Lennox paused. “Meryl only said she’s a young woman. Dr. Cheney wore a mask during the treatment, so she didn’t see her face clearly.”
Callahan tapped his finger on the file, thoughtful. Wearing a mask? Coincidence... or deliberate concealment?
He picked up his phone and called Dante. “Grandpa, did that Dr. Cheney leave any contact info?”
Dante sounded triumphant. “Of course! I even transferred her 5 million in medical fees!”
Callahan raised an eyebrow. “You’re certainly generous.”
