The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 470

Floyd chuckled. He wouldn't vouch for just anyone, but regarding professional competence, he had absolute confidence in Leilani. “I won’t say much else, but she is the most outstanding young doctor I have ever met. Her talent, perseverance, and mindset are all top-tier. In a way, having the chance to exchange ideas with her is your privilege.”

The weight of that statement was immense coming from Floyd. Malcolm understood the implication and agreed decisively. “Alright. Send me her contact information. I’ll get in touch tomorrow.”

Floyd breathed a sigh of relief. “Thanks, Malcolm. When I get back, dinner is on me.”

Shortly after the call ended, Leilani received a text message: [Malcolm Sewell: Garrison University Medical School, Toxicology Institute. Phone: 555-0199.]

Leilani stared at the screen thoughtfully, saved the number, and immediately stood up. She wasn't one to procrastinate. She dialed the number right away.

When the call connected, she was slightly taken aback. The voice on the other end was clear and crisp, with a scholarly refinement that sounded nothing like the stern, old professor she had imagined, nor as intimidating as Floyd had warned.

“Hello, is this Professor Malcolm?” Leilani asked politely.

“Speaking,” the voice replied gently. “And you are?”

“I’m Leilani. Professor Dillon gave me your number.”

“Oh, it’s you.” A hint of a smile entered Malcolm’s voice. “He just messaged me. He said you have a tricky case to discuss?”

“Yes,” Leilani went straight to the point. “The patient has been poisoned with a rare, complex neurotoxin. I’ve hit a dead end, which is why I reached out to Mr. Dillon.”

Malcolm hummed thoughtfully. “That does sound complicated. It’s hard to discuss clearly over the phone. Would you be free to meet in person?”

“I am.” Leilani checked the time. “Are you free today?”
