The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 46

A flash of panic crossed Tamara’s eyes, but she quickly hid it. She feigned surprise. “Leilani? How would she have a connection with Langley Group?”

Clive scoffed. “Someone like her climbing the ladder to the Langleys? She probably used some dirty tricks!”

Josiah frowned. “What do you mean?”

“Tamara and I went to Celestial Heights to find her before, and we got kicked out by Callahan personally. Their relationship didn’t look normal.”

Speaking of this, Clive couldn't hide his disgust.

“Just because of that, she poisoned me! My hand was itching for a week! Reporters even snapped photos of me going to the hospital. Now the internet thinks I have some weird disease, and I have to hide at home to avoid the heat!”

“Celestial Heights? Why did you go to find her there?” Josiah asked.

A house in Celestial Heights cost millions. How could Leilani afford to live there? How many things had happened with Leilani since her release that he didn’t know about?

Tamara sighed at the right moment, adding in a sugary tone, “Josiah, don’t be mad. Leilani might just be confused. After all, she was in prison for four years; it’s inevitable she learned some unsavory methods.”

She lowered her head, voice soft. “Clive and I heard she bought a place at Celestial Heights. We were worried she did something bad to get it, so we went to persuade her to come home. But Leilani got very angry. Not only did she ignore us, but she also threw some unknown poison on Clive and kicked us out.”

“Mr. Langley seems to live there too. Do you think Leilani is actually Callahan's kept woman?”

As Josiah listened, his eyes grew cold. So that was it. Not only was Leilani unrepentant after getting out, but she had gotten worse, using dirty means to cling to power?

However, how could someone like Callahan truly be interested in her? He was just momentarily deceived.
