Why would she sneeze? Was she catching a cold? It didn't seem likely.
Leilani's constitution had always been strong, and with her medical knowledge, she rarely got sick.
Hearing the sneezes, Yvonne turned her head, casting a worried look at Leilani. "Leilani, are you okay? Coming down with something?"
Leilani shook her head. "No, just an itchy nose."
She looked up at the sky; it was sunny without a cloud in sight. Weird. It couldn't be the Sloan family bad-mouthing her behind her back, could it?
She had heard rumors that both the Sloans and the Sherwoods had been dealing with some unrest lately. Given their track record, petty cursing was right up their alley.
But honestly, Leilani didn't care what they thought. Shrugging, she dismissed the thought and linked arms with Yvonne, leading her toward the mall.
At the café entrance, Leilani pushed the door open and immediately spotted Judie sitting in the corner. She was looking down at her phone, her chestnut bob glowing softly in the sunlight, two small silver studs glinting on her earlobes. She radiated a clean, cool, and capable vibe.
Leilani walked over and knocked on the table. "Waiting long?"
Judie looked up. Her eyes lit up when she saw Leilani, and she immediately put down her phone.
"Leilani!" She stood up, grinning, and spread her arms for a solid bear hug before pulling back to look her over. "Jeez, we haven't seen each other for that long, but you look like you've lost weight again."
