The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 162

She raised her voice intentionally, scanning the surrounding guests.

"Haven't you heard? The eldest daughter of the Sloan family, Leilani, went to prison four years ago for aggravated assault. She was only released recently!"

As soon as the words left her mouth, the venue erupted.

"What? She's been to prison?"

"Why would Dante associate with someone like that?"

"He was probably deceived. Young girls these days are manipulative; she even dared to trick Dante."

"Fresh out of prison and already out scamming people. Is she a career criminal?"

"Hackett's daughter, right? I think I heard something about that before."

"It's true, that did happen."

Murmurs rose from all sides. Leilani stood her ground, feeling the gazes projecting from every direction. Her fist clenched slightly, but her face remained calm. What was meant to happen would happen eventually.

Leilani was just glad she had already told Dante about this beforehand, so he wouldn't be caught off guard.

Dante's expression darkened instantly. Just as he was about to speak, Letty, standing beside him, spoke up coldly. "We know exactly what kind of person Ms. Sloan is. Is it your place to tell us what to do?"

Brenda choked on her words but quickly feigned aggrievance. "I was just telling the truth... I was afraid you'd be deceived."
