The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 153

How could she have changed so much in just a month?

The more Zeus thought about it, the angrier he got. He dialed Josiah Sloan immediately.

"Josiah, I just ran into Leilani at the hospital! Do you have any idea what's going on with her?" Zeus's voice was grim. "She has a badge from Floyd Dillon of the Global Special Medical Team! She even got into our Classified Archives!"

On the other end of the line, Josiah's voice was calm, almost indifferent. "Oh. And?"

Zeus paused, thrown off by the lackluster reaction. "What do you mean 'And'? Do you know who Floyd is? He's the Director of the Capital Military Hospital! How could a girl fresh out of prison have connections with someone like that? There has to be something shady going on between them!"

Hearing the title 'Capital Military Hospital' finally got a reaction out of Josiah. "What?"

Josiah didn't know much about the Global Special Medical Team, but the Military Hospital implied high-ranking government connections. He immediately assumed Callahan Langley must have introduced them. Leilani's relationship with Callahan was evidently much closer than they had realized.

"So? What do you want to do about it?" Josiah asked.

Since the last time Leilani had cut ties with them, Josiah had resigned himself to the situation. Leilani hated them—probably because they had failed her—and she had a sharp tongue now. Not to mention her bizarre combat skills. He could only complain about her privately; they couldn't actually control her.

Zeus, choked by his brother's apathy, gritted his teeth. "I'm going to tell Dad. He needs to discipline her!"

There was a two-second silence on the line before Josiah let out a cold laugh. "Zeus, are you really that out of the loop?"
