The Playboy’s Downfall novel Chapter 52

SATURDAY MORNING, Zero needs to work because of the pile of documents that needs his signatures. He’s not that workaholic and seldom works on Saturday and these are really unusual for him. Puzzled, he just continued what he was doing when his secretary came inside his office… with the woman whom he knows.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Cohen but she insisted to come in—”

Zero just nodded which makes his secretary stop talking, bowed his head, and exited the office.

Tilda flashed her seductive smirk and walked toward him. Zero crossed his arms in front of his chest as he leaned on the backrest of his swivel chair.

“What brings you here?” he asked.

Tilda walked closer and leaned on the side of his table and smiled, seductively.

Zero smirked.

“Visiting you. And also wanted to invite you for a coffee,” Tilda replied.

Zero scoffed. “Do you think I have time for those?”

Tilda let out a flirtatious chuckle. “Oh, come on, Zero. I knew you. And it’s surprising that you also worked on weekends,” she uttered.

Zero unclasped his arms and grabbed his pen on the side of his PC. “Habit change,” he replied simply.

Tilda bit her lower lip and approaches him, she tried to touch him but Zero spat her hand away and glared at her which makes Tilda laugh even louder.

“Oh, Zero you used to love my touch. And even crave for my—” she didn’t finish her words when Zero stood up, grabbed her in the arm, and pierced his eyes into hers.

“You should have known that past is past,” he uttered, jaw clenched.

However, Tilda just smirked and moved closer to him. “Really?” she uttered and suddenly grabbed Zero in his crotch which angered Zero.

He gritted his teeth and dragged her out of his office—he opened the door and pushes Tilda outside of his office.

“You really think we’re the same as before? Look,” he pinched the bridge of his nose, “if you’re here to win me back, I’m sorry but I don’t use what I’ve already thrown away—” he didn’t finish his words when a hand landed in his face which makes it turned to the side.

Zero looked at her, shutting a glare.

“Remember this, Zero. I will do my best to have you again!” she exclaimed.

Zero scoffed. “Not a single chance,” he uttered.

Tilda formed a sly smirk on his lips. “Try me.”

Zero pierced his eyes one more time on her before he turned his back and enter his office.

Tilda’s mouth parted, feeling dismayed and annoyed. As she can’t do anything, she then left.

“Why?”

“I-I didn’t finish my activities yet. I still have two more essays to write. It should be five hundred words each,” she lied. Oh. God, forgive me, she uttered.

“You can continue it tomorrow—”

“What if let’s have dinner tomorrow night? You knew I prefer doing all my activities when I planned it.”

Apollo laughed on the other line. “Okay then, princess. No boys, okay?” he warned which makes her scoff.

“Aye. Aye, captain,” she asserted and laughed.

“Good girl. Also, mom’s out of the country again. Just pick you up tomorrow then,” he uttered.

“Alright. Ba-bye,” she said and dropped the telephone.

She heaved a deep sigh. Good thing her lies worked. Damn! With Zero, she already knew how to lie. Well, nobody’s perfect, like they say.

After vacuuming, she cleans her room and fixed her things when one moment, her eyes caught the paper bag from the pharmacy near their condo building. She walked towards it and grabbed it—it’s a lubricant she bought with courage.

Good thing the pharmacist didn’t ask her where will she used it.
