Charlotte went quiet.
She didn’t really feel anything for her father. The only thing she wanted was to know what had happened all those years ago. Was he involved in what happened to her mom?
“Check it out.”
After a few moments, Charlotte spoke up, sounding so laid-back it was like she was asking someone to find a lost pet, not her dad.
“If you find him, and he’s got anything to do with my mom’s death…”
Anthony looked at her, caught off guard by how blunt she was. “Hmm?”
Charlotte let out a lazy yawn. “Just kill him. No need to tell me.”
Anthony just stared at her for a second. He really hoped the man had nothing to do with Lottie’s mother’s death. Even if she didn’t have a mom, at least she’d still have a dad who cared. He wondered if the man even knew Lottie existed.
Half an hour later, Anthony sent the order to X Organization’s intel team to track the guy down. He pulled the covers back, wrapped his arms around Charlotte, and was about to turn off the bedside lamp when his phone suddenly rang.
“Glenn. That your professor?”
“Yeah.” Charlotte glanced at the screen, then shot Anthony a look that said it all.
Anthony grinned, tucked her in, and answered the call, holding the phone up for her.
“Glenn,” Charlotte greeted, polite but distant. “I got the Number 30 serum.”
