The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 654

“Wait here for a second.”

Letty pulled her gaze away, handed the stack of books to Carmelita, and strode over to Charlotte. She offered a small, practiced smile. “Hi, I’m Letty.”

Letty was the youngest member ever accepted into The Cabinda Medical Branch. She was the kind of name that came up often, especially now that she was a hot favorite for the International Medical Alliance competition. In the world of medicine, her achievements were legendary. Every medical student knew who she was.

“Can I help you?”

Charlotte’s reply was cool and even. She lifted an eyebrow, and the sunlight caught her face. She was stunning—fair skin, bright eyes, sharp features. There wasn’t a hint of makeup, but she gave off this natural, untouchable elegance that made people stop and stare.

“She’s so pretty!”

A few upperclassmen from The Cabinda University hovered nearby. They’d only ever seen Charlotte’s pictures online, but seeing her in real life was something else entirely.

“Yeah, she’s pretty, but what’s with that attitude?” Carmelita grumbled as she hugged the books to her chest. She shot a glare at Charlotte’s distant expression. “Letty’s going out of her way to talk to her. You’d think she’d be grateful.”

So what if Charlotte was top of her class? Carmelita figured even if Charlotte spent her whole life studying medicine, she wouldn’t be worthy of handing Letty a scalpel. Who did she think she was, acting all above it all?

“Yes, I do need something.” Letty looked Charlotte over with a faint, amused smile. “Let’s talk about Stella.”

Charlotte’s methods were ruthless. It only took one round of physical training for her to have Janie thrown in jail. No wonder Stella didn’t want to go home now that she had someone like Charlotte backing her up.

“Stella’s my sister. She’s always been a bit… intense. That’s why our family sent her to the countryside for a while. Things got a bit distant between us because of that.” Letty tilted her chin up, her tone dripping with superiority. “But now that she’s back, she’ll have to come home sooner or later.”

“Charlotte, I really think you should focus on your own studies and stay out of our family’s business. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll be able to help you out in the medical field.”

Letty kept smiling, but her words had a sharp edge.

Shirley, standing nearby, frowned in irritation.
