Those girls had dreamed of seeing the world outside, but sadly...
Fate had been cruel, and their lives had been cut brutally short.
Because of that.
She didn't want to see a tragedy like that ever happen again.
"Alright." Seeing her determination, her roommate didn't try to stop her, instead offering a kind reminder. "Just be careful out there."
"Thanks."
Stella smiled gently. She grabbed her suitcase and headed downstairs.
Charlotte was leaning against her car, hands stuffed in her pockets, a lollipop in her mouth.
Her effortless, cool demeanor hardly looked like that of an expectant mother.
"Let's go. I'll take you to the airport."
Charlotte glanced at her luggage, then reached out to lightly cup Stella's cheek. "I put some sunscreen and a basic first-aid kit in the car. Don't forget to take them with you."
"Got it."
Stella nodded and slid into the passenger seat.
They made it to the airport with perfect timing.
"Call me if you need anything."
Charlotte didn't overwhelm her with goodbyes. She handed over the suitcase, keeping her tone light. "Stay safe. It's remote, but the locals are good people, and the scenery is supposed to be beautiful.
I think you'll love it."
"I will." Stella gave a small nod. Before she turned to leave, she gently patted Charlotte's stomach, her voice melting with sweetness. "I'm heading out. I'll bring back gifts for both of you."
With their goodbyes said, Stella went through the security checkpoint.
Within moments, she disappeared into the bustling crowd.
Almost the second she was out of sight.
Roger stepped out from a blind spot, gripping the handle of a sleek suitcase.
"You're really going through with this?" Charlotte shot him a sideways glance, cutting straight to the point. "Aren't you worried you'll just piss her off even more?
