Chapter292
"What's the old feud got to do with her?” Tyler snapped.
Michelle was bawling, her face hidden behind her hands.
Antonio butted in, putting her in his arms. "Grace, you're way out of line!
"Look, it's just an old necklace. Michelle, we'll give it to her."
He yanked the necklace off and tossed it aside. "Let's go. I'll get you a nicer, pricier one right away."
Tyler gave me a sidelong glance and sighed, "Grace, why do you always have to be so stubborn and make a big deal out of things?
"Michelle has had such a tough time, and yet you can't accept her.
"You're a girl. Why not show a little kindness?
"As for the design awards, Grace, you've had your share. There'll be more chances for you in the future.
"But Michelle needs this win to make a name for herself, to get a foothold in the circle.
"So she can be accepted by the Kaufman family eventually."
He reached out to lift me up. "Grace..."
"Hands off," I brushed his hand away and let out a laugh.
My eyes were dry, and no tears came.
Sometimes, when one was too sad, tears just wouldn't come.
The sunset faded.
The world was bathed in that crimson glow.
The forecast said it was getting hotter every day.
With everything so dry, we had to be careful with any flames.
