To repay the favor, I went out with the doctor from the hospital. 

We watched the sunrise I had missed before, hiked, had a picnic, shared a meal, and enjoyed some drinks together. 

He was a fantastic companion, offering the emotional support I so desperately needed. 

I felt so much better now. 

That day, the doctor dropped me off at my doorstep. 

The moment I stepped out of the car, I froze. 

Antonio and Sabrina were there, scrutinizing me, while his mother glared at me with disdain. 

“Grace, have you no shame? You called the cops on us, got Sabrina and I locked up, just so you could go out with another guy!” Antonio snapped, grabbing my collar. 

Sabrina, supporting his mother, walked up to me. His mother sneered. “Let’s talk inside. Others don’t need to see this.” 

The living room was crowded with my parents. Antonio’s parents, and even my former teacher, Taylor Carlson, whom Antonio had invited.- 

Sabrina pulled out photos of me with the doctor during our trips.

She glanced around, waiting for my parents to speak. 

My father ignored them and stared at the bandage on my hand. “What happened to your hand?“. 

I glanced down, and the memory flooded back. 

The shards cut Antonio’s arm, and Sabrina glanced over nervously. 

“Grace, you can’t just badmouth us because we caught you cheating!” she said, her voice breaking.
