Haillie looked a bit hesitant, "…I'm all good! Just popped by to see how your sprained ankle is doing?"
"Ah, it's much better. I can walk normally now, but I can't do any intense exercise yet."
"That's great!"
Looking at Haillie, Patricia's eyes held a subtle hint of disdain. She could see right through Haillie's real intentions.
Haillie had always been infatuated with her brother Balfour. She always came up with excuses to come over and play, but all she wanted was to get closer to Balfour!
Staring at this 'good friend' who harbored feelings for her brother, Patricia hatched a plan in her mind!
So, she quickly concocted a lie and then pretended to sigh with worry, "Haillie, it's good you came by. There's something I need to tell you as a friend…"
Haillie was taken aback, "What is it?"
Patricia said with a sad face, "This morning, I went to the Central Maternity Hospital."
Haillie looked worried, "Patricia, what's wrong? Are you sick? Why did you go to the maternity hospital all of a sudden?"
Patricia shook her head, gently clutching Haillie's hand, "Haillie, don’t worry about me! It wasn't me who needed to go to the hospital. My brother had me accompany a girl there for an abortion."
Haillie's eyes widened in shock, "Abortion? Balfour...why would Balfour have a girl get an abortion? Who is she?"
Patricia let out a resigned sigh, "It's Ellinor. She's pregnant."
"What?! Ellinor! But what does Ellinor's pregnancy have to do with Balfour?"
Hearing that the man she had admired since childhood had been violated by Ellinor in such a dirty way, Haillie was so angry that her hands were shaking.
"Ellinor is so shameless! She couldn't get Theo, so she set her sights on Balfour!
She'll stop at nothing just to marry into a wealthy family! I feel sick thinking about what happened to Balfour that night!
Thank god Balfour didn't fall for such a low-class woman. She deserved to get that abortion!"
But Patricia looked worried again, "But Ellinor didn't go through with the abortion today. She changed her mind halfway and ran off."
"What?!"
