The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 1637

However, the two little rascals' antics were not going to get past Marcus' keen sight. He cast a glance at them and spoke in a casual yet firm tone, "If you two have something to say, then say it. Do you think you can communicate through cheeky grins and winks without me noticing?"

Both children froze and then turned to look at Marcus with both guilty and embarrassed expressions.

Adrian flashed a small smile. "Dad, we...didn't talk about anything."

Marcus squinted his eyes as his piercing gaze landed on his son. "There's nobody else here now, so spill it! Were you two plotting something when you went to the bathroom together?"

Adrian knew his father had seen through everything. He exchanged a glance with Lea, unsure if he could reveal their secret.

Lea, always the straight-shooter, pondered for a moment and then confessed. "Marcus, we did indeed discuss something in the bathroom."

Marcus looked at Lea. "Alright, what was it?"

"Well... I've already figured out that 'Tristan' isn't actually Tristan. When we went to the bathroom, 'Tristan' told me he thought he heard his mom's voice and wanted to go upstairs to look for her. I didn't feel comfortable letting him go alone, so I told him to come back here while I went up to search for her."

What? Ellinor was here too?

This was something Marcus hadn't anticipated. His eyes tightened as a look of wonder began to grow on his face. "And did you find his mother?"

Lea agreed. "I know! It's a big coincidence. But I've always thought you... well, the real Tristan, looked a lot like the woman who saved my mom. I've been speculating about this, and today my suspicion was confirmed."

Adrian grew impatient and started anxiously glancing upstairs. "Aunt Lea, did you see who my mom came here with?"

Lea thought for a moment. "A bunch of people. Men, women, a whole group. The real Tristan, who looks just like you, is there too."

Adrian could guess who she was referring to. He wanted to go upstairs and see for himself. After turning to Marcus, he asked, "Dad, can I go upstairs and see my mom? Maybe I could bring the real Tristan down to meet you. You haven't seen him for a while; you must miss him, right?"

Marcus had been lost in thought for quite some time. Adrian’s request snapped him back to reality, and his brows furrowed deeply. "Do you think it's appropriate for you to go upstairs right now?"
