She trailed after him, chattering away at his back.
"Why don't you try hitting two hundred pounds and find out? I promise I won't judge you. They say men always let themselves go after marriage. If you stay completely shredded, people are going to think I'm mistreating you and that you're miserable in your marriage."
Joseph was getting more speechless by the second. "Where do you even come up with this nonsense?"
"It's not nonsense."
The two walked upstairs together, and Joseph headed toward the second-floor guest bathroom to wash up.
Since Chaim was asleep in the master bedroom, he was worried that showering there would wake the boy.
Vivica followed him, still chatting. When he suddenly stopped, she couldn't brake in time and bumped right into his solid back.
"Ouch," Vivica muttered, rubbing her nose.
The lawyer turned around, a teasing half-smile on his face. "I'm about to take a shower. Are you sure you want to follow me in?"
"No, no, that's okay." Vivica shook her head quickly, then waved the things in her hands. "I'll just go hang up your clothes. You hurry up and wash. I'll wait for you in the room; we need to talk."
"Talk about what? We can talk right now."
"It's not urgent. Just go shower."
Vivica was terrified that if she didn't bolt right then, he'd drag her in for a shared shower, so she scurried off.
About half an hour later, the esteemed lawyer Joseph swaggered back into the room, wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.
Vivica was leaning against the headboard, reading a book by the light of her bedside lamp.
Looking up to see a rugged, incredibly sexy male physique strolling toward her, practically oozing temptation, her face flushed hot. She scolded him in a low voice, "What are you doing? I'm not the only one in the house, you can't just walk around like that."
Joseph remained completely unfazed. "It's your fault for not bringing me my pajamas."
When he'd first walked in the door, she'd been waiting on him hand and foot.
But when he actually needed her, she was nowhere to be found.
