The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 327

Joseph stared at the photograph, and in his mind, nearly all doubt vanished. These had to be Vivica's biological parents.

At first glance, the resemblance to the woman was striking. But as he looked closer, at the man, he could see traces of him in Vivica’s features too—the shape of her eyes, the line of her brow. She was clearly a combination of them both.

“You’ve already made up your mind, haven’t you?” Joseph asked in a low voice.

Vivica remained silent, her feelings a tangled knot, even more complicated than before. She remembered the day she’d gone to the police station to have her fingerprints and DNA registered, already resigned to the idea that she had probably been abandoned. Otherwise, why had no one ever come looking for her? For a long time, she had managed to push the entire matter to the back of her mind, to simply forget.

But now, the truth was hurtling toward her with breathtaking speed.

“I don’t know what to do,” she confessed.

“If you want to know more about them, I can have someone in Sydville investigate. It won’t take long—two or three days at most.”

“And what if the investigation confirms it?” Vivica asked, her expression lost. “What if they really are my parents?”

Joseph fell silent for a moment, his heart aching for her. “If they are,” he said gently, “and you want to see them, I’ll go with you. If you don’t, then we’ll pretend we never found out.”

“How could I do that?” Vivica knew it was impossible. Once she knew the truth, she could never simply ignore it.

Joseph understood her perfectly. Her indecision was a clear sign that she wanted to know, that she wanted to meet them. She was just terrified of what that truth might be, afraid of the resentment it would stir up.

Seeing that she was too overwhelmed to make a decision, he made it for her.
