The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 301

“I’ll finish up my work at the office and then head to the airport this afternoon to get my car,” Vivica explained.

Joseph held the passenger door open for her. Once he was in the driver's seat, he dismissed her plan. “You don’t need to run around. Just give me your car keys. You remember the general area where you parked, right? Send me the license plate number, and I’ll have someone pick it up.”

“That’s too much trouble,” Vivica declined. “It’s easier if I just go myself.”

“But it’s not safe. What if the highway is icy?”

“There’s so much traffic; it should be fine.”

“The traffic is what worries me more,” Joseph said casually as he started the engine and pulled out of the parking spot. “If I have the means to prevent it, I won’t let you take any risks. Especially now. You need to take care of yourself and prepare your body for pregnancy.”

His argument left Vivica with no room to refuse. Getting Chaim the treatment he needed was their top priority. So, she followed his instructions, placing her car key in the center console and sending him a message with the approximate location and license plate number.

“I was worried I’d forget where I parked, so I took a picture. I’ve sent you everything.”

“Good. The car will be home by tonight.”

Vivica nodded and murmured her thanks. Recalling her conversation with Melanie from the day before, she decided it was time to talk to Joseph about it.

“Yesterday… Melanie said a few things to me.”

Joseph kept his eyes on the road but responded, “About us?”

“Yes. She knew you went to Glenburgh for work and then made a special trip to Sydville to find me.”

A faint smile touched Joseph’s lips. “That’s my mom for you.”

Vivica pressed her lips together, still trying to figure out how to phrase her next words.
