The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 297

“Are you still in there?” Joseph asked in a low voice. “Don’t fall asleep in the tub.”

“No, I’m not! I’m fine! Just don’t come in.”

Even through the door, Joseph could feel her tension and panic. A slow smile spread across his face. If Chaim weren’t in the room, he would have been tempted to go in just to tease her.

Vivica quickly emerged, wearing a silk robe. Since she had nothing on underneath, she had tied the belt extra tight, but she still felt exposed and vulnerable.

The first thing she saw was Joseph. She nervously fidgeted with her hair, unsure what to do with her hands. He was here this late, which meant he was planning to stay the night. It was part of their agreement—to start their ‘project’ after she returned from her trip. But now that the moment was here, her nerves were shot.

Then, she took a few more steps into the room and saw her son sitting on the large bed. A wave of relief washed over her. With Chaim present, the charged atmosphere between them would surely dissipate.

“Chaim, are you all clean?” she asked, turning her attention to her son and deliberately ignoring the powerfully built man in the room.

“Yup!” Chaim nodded obediently. “I’m all clean, Mommy, and I took my medicine.”

“That’s my good…” Vivica was about to praise him when he happily announced, “Mommy, tonight I want you and Uncle Joseph to sleep with me. He already said yes!”

What? The two of them were going to sleep with Chaim tonight?

Vivica felt her tongue twist into a knot. She tried to speak but couldn’t, her wide, panicked eyes flying to Joseph.

He walked toward her, casually unbuttoning the collar of his shirt. The simple movement was impossibly alluring, charged with a magnetic energy that made Vivica even more nervous. She instinctively took a step back.

What was he doing? Was he going to undress right here, in front of the child?

“What are you so scared of?” Joseph noticed her urge to flee, his deep voice laced with amusement. “Chaim asked, and I couldn’t bear to refuse him. If you have a problem with it, you can be the one to tell him no.”

Vivica swallowed hard. “You’re good at playing the nice guy and making me the villain,” she muttered.

Joseph just smiled without a word.

“Mommy, please let me stay! I was so good while you were gone,” Chaim pleaded, already a master of sweet-talking and manipulation. He launched his charm offensive before Vivica could even begin to negotiate.

As always, Vivica found it impossible to say no to her son, especially now that he was so ill. “Alright, fine. Now get under the covers and go to sleep,” she said, walking to the bed and pulling back the duvet for him.

Chaim immediately snuggled down, but not without reminding the other adult in the room, “Uncle Joseph, you have to go get all clean-clean now.”
