The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 294

Melanie smiled warmly. “It’s because Chaim is such a good boy. You’ve raised him so well; he’s very well-behaved.”

Vivica had grown accustomed to the Baird family’s graciousness, but hearing those words from Melanie still touched her heart. She felt incredibly fortunate to have met such a wonderful family.

Although she had eaten lunch on the train, Melanie had the kitchen prepare another meal for her.

“You can’t possibly be full from train food. You’ve lost weight on your trip, so you need to eat more,” Melanie insisted, ushering her to the table.

Vivica began to wonder. Joseph said she’d lost weight, and now Melanie was saying it too. Had a few days away really made that much of a difference?

She sat down to eat, and Chaim immediately squeezed onto her lap, wanting to be fed. She ate her own meal while giving him bites from her plate.

Melanie sat beside them and asked casually, “So, did Joseph leave you at the station?”

“Ahem! Cough, cough…” Vivica choked abruptly, startling Chaim.

Melanie quickly had a maid bring her a glass of water.

“What are you so flustered about? Joseph didn’t tell us directly, but Glenburgh City is so close to Sydville, I figured he’d go over to pick you up and come back with you,” Melanie explained with a gentle laugh, pushing the glass toward her.

Vivica took a sip of water, but her cheeks were still burning. “He came to see me last night for a late dinner and then left…” she mumbled, hoping to imply that nothing improper had happened.
